The emotions after Friday’s clash between two excellent culinary teams are slowly fading, the taste buds are returning to everyday life, and we are slowly preparing for the next edition.
And how was the first meeting of the #streetfoodfighters series?

Preparations for the evening clashes had been underway since Thursday. The teams prepared their preparations in their kitchens or in the kitchens of other people. On Friday morning, the preparations appeared in Hewelke’s kitchen. What surprised us most was the stoic calmness of both teams. Despite the fact that they were chefs who had the Chef over them on a daily basis, they worked in the kitchen of Hewelke like a well-programmed machine. With a little help from the Hewelke team and the support of the Chef of the White Rabbit Kitchen, the chefs prepared calmly, without haste and without nerves, the 8 dishes that were presented to the guests gathered for dinner that evening.

If you know the concept of the dinner, then you know that we don’t reveal who prepared which dishes. The guests know what will be served, in what order, but no one knows which team is behind the particular plate. Each of the Guests received a voting card in which they could decide which team they think is winning each of the eight matches.
We must admit that the turnout in the #SFF elections far exceeded that of the previous election, and the result… the result exceeded our expectations!

The prepared menu was a showcase of both teams. It was creative, innovative, surprising with new solutions or traditional elements in a modern way.
The menu was a definite success for both teams; it was planned and thought through by them from start to finish. It was also a big challenge for them – that one evening the outcome depended solely on them.

It was pleasant to watch the competition, but also the cooperation between the teams. Of course, despite playing against each other, they found a way to help each other, to smile and have a great time. We saw commitment, moments of stress, careful observations of the plates disappearing from Chef’s table, consultations, and photos being taken of the dishes at the last minute.
The judges, or all the guests, have selected the winners. The winning team, Gyozilla, received 98 votes! H15 Noble Team received 18 votes. Even 9 judges were unable to decide on the winners. And we don’t blame them at all – it was a really tight battle between great chefs. However, only one of the teams can advance to the next stage.

Congratulations to the winners; to the losers, we wish you not to give up and to continue fighting for your dreams!
